title: Thoughts from a cold autumn
date: 2021-10-23
Some thoughts that need to get out and written there. They might be turned into
individual blog posts later, once I sort them out.
## Educational system
For a long time I have been excited about the next year of studies. I always
thought that my new teachers and classmates would be excited as I was about:
- learning new things,
- sharing their skills,
- improving their toolbox of culture and problem solving!
> I was wrong. I am wrong. Educational system failed me, and I lost faith in
> it.
I lost faith in most of teachers. In fact, I expect a teacher to inspiring.
But 99% of them are not.
I lost faith in educational system. As a student, you are punished instead of
being rewarded. You are being taught the same things over and over again,
with the same boring methods.
Please, tell me I am wrong.
## Dealing with administrative services
As a good citizen and young adult, I always fullfill my legal obligations in
time. And yet, every step turns my mind to a weird state, mixing anger and
frustration and despair:
- I register through multiple online services.
- I have to use multiple and different credentials for each of those.
- They send verification codes through the postal service. POSTAL. SERVICE.
- Once the mails are received (two weeks later), I have to wait two more weeks
for account verification.
- For that specific declaration, they send another mail through postal service
..
- The paper has to be manually completed, scanned, then sent through an online
service.
> This is one of my many experiences with french administration in less than
> 6 months.
In fact, almost every administration processes are burden:
- They are slow and lack of documentations.
- They ask your personal informations MULTIPLE times, even when they already
have them in their database.
- It is tedious and slow to get support from an administrative employee.
## Real life sucks
People are hypocrytes. Most of them are the first ones to look down on you.
Even close people might eventually ignore you. No matter what you do or how
hard you try to accomplish anything meaningful.
